Shibui Japanese Antiques opened in Pasadena, California in 1992, selling a wide range of items to fit many needs and budgets. Today, we are a highly respected provider of fine Japanese antiques for collectors and connoisseurs.
Gaining knowledge from books, exhibitions, and museums has been an important factor in our growth, but we've found that upgrading our inventory has been the optimum tool for learning. Nothing compares to actually seeing, smelling, touching, and owning an antique.
Creating a large, dependable purchasing network has also proved invaluable. We have a strong network
of auctions, dealers and friends who provide us with quality pieces. And with frequent purchasing trips
to Japan and our participation in the New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles Asian Shows, we are
continually expanding our buying contacts worldwide.
To perfect our client service, we work hard at
building long-term, trusting relationships. Many of our best customers have become our good
friends. Knowing our customers allows us to purchase objects with specific buyers in mind as well as find buyers for objects our clients wish to sell.
